Inscription:  Magnolia Tree Memorial:  Estella Hefley, Dean of Women 1933-57, and her students, planted these trees in 1945 as a living memorial to the Ole Miss students who died for their country during World War II.  The names of these individuals are listed on a plague in the Alumni House, which was dedicated to the University's war dead in 1951.
