Oxford-Lafayette County Heritage Foundation

There are three entities in Oxford and Lafayette County involved in historic endeavors....a foundation, a preservation commission  and a genealogical society.

We ARE the Oxford-Lafayette County Heritage Foundation, focused on conservancy, which acquires, protects or identifies a  property or site as an island of heritage. We are site specific and seek preservation, restoration and stewardship of historical  assets.

We ARE NOT the Oxford Preservation Commission which is appointed by the City of Oxford to oversight its preservation ordinance; This ordinance provides guidelines for designated districts for preservation. Homeowners must secure commission approval for major changes to their home's facade.

We ARE NOT the Skipworth Historic and Genealogical Society whose membership purpose is "to seek, collect, preserve and disseminate facts and information with reference to historical, genealogical and biographic matters, and...research".
